The byway leading into Thurne loses height gently, before bending around the parish church and revealing the valley - of the Rivers Bure and Thurne.

 

The village staithe is at the end of a cut leading to the River Thurne ...

 

.. and is host to some new housing and an old windmill.

The village spread out beyond the road, and just a few cruisers tied up ...

 

.. will probably resolve into a less restful scene in the summer months.
