The Ipswich Road roundabout, with heavy homeward-bound traffic at about 5.00 pm. In the morning rush-hour traffic piles up coming out of Colchester, due to heavy use of the slip road into Severalls.

The slip-road to Colchester Business Park. By exiting the A12 at the Ipswich Road roundabout and rat-running into the 

town centre via Mill Road and North Station Road motorists avoid the agonies of Cowdray Avenue.

Colchester Business Park, signed just off the Ipswich Road roundabout. A footpath here leads to the slip-off road .. and general access to the Business Park.

Development of residential areas in Highwoods has been rapid over the past decade, and is not yet over. Here Mill Road is closed as roadworks for a new estate hold up the traffic on this popular route.

Some housing appears to be making use of pre-constructed segments.

A single, unearthed stump, remains on the flattened site. Heavy equipment has been corralled inside a protective enclosure to prevent theft.
