The first signs of the new road appear off Turner Road. The line of the Northern Approaches splits the two hospital sites, occupying the low ground between.
Engineering work is clearly necessary to canalize any drainage taking this route, as the road appears to go straight on top!

The traffic on a Saturday morning was heavy. Cars were lined up two-abreast coming out, slowly, from ASDA. The new bus lay-by is in, as are the lights for the pedestrian crossing. Gridlock was occurring before any extra traffic generated by the northern approaches road!
