Veneguera is a small
village occupying a narrow valley to the sea just off GC200, and the
first one on this road out of Mogan. The centre shot is from the
cafe at Los Canadas. |

Fuente de los
Azulejos is marked by a cafe/restaurant and is the spot to stop
to view the discolouration of some volcanic strata by
oxidization into a pastel green rock, that is reasonably easily
crumbled. |

The approach to La Aldea de San
Nicholas is long and quite steep, opening up vistas of
cloth-covered hillsides. |

Cultivation depends upon the
combination of reasonably moderate slopes, fertile soil ... but
mostly I assume would be water. The centre shot is a
'ground-truth' photograph of a plot of potatoes seen in the shot
on the right, taken from high in the hills. |

Mirador el Balcon
is a spot where the road, GC200, meets the top of the cliffs. A
balcony has been constructed to fully appreciate the scale of
these cliffs. |

The view north from Mirador
el Balcon gives a view to Agaete and its harbour, but emphasises the
vastness of the volcanic deposits and their rapid erosion by coastal
erosion. |
