Parking is available at
Thorpe Common, next to a fishing lake, and the track taken down to the
River Orwell shores, centre, where the beach beneath Sleighton Hill
contains many sea shells. |

Turning to the west
the footpath takes you past Loompit Lake, an artificial
construction seeming popular with fishermen. |

to the marina appears to be draining on a falling tide. |

The path through the
woodland at Stratton Cliff is a very pleasant walk, and at the top of
the cliff a good exposure of crag is visible. |

farmland ploughing was underway with a number of large and
impressive cultivators. |
