Taken possibly in the years 1997-1999, from the car park of the Golf Club.

Defence works to the west of West Bay. the recurved concrete sea wall is protected by nourished shingle, and there are two stone groynes protecting that. The slope to the right has been graded and some mesh laid to prevent further slippages. |
The coast path now runs behind the graded slope and just to the seaward of an estate of bungalows.

Work was underway to remodel the entrance to West Bay to expand the range of facilities available for small boats at the port, but especially to make the harbour entrance safer. |
