Warkworth Castle,
home of the powerful Percy family, dominates the main
street, rising up both a natural hill to the south of the
settlement, and also upon its pedestal mound of earth. the
flag of English Heritage flies above the highest turret.

Bustling tourism

The historic
fortified bridge at the northern entrance to the town, the
only other way in after the neck of the meander of the River
Croquet, amply guarded by Warkworth Castle.
