These questions refer back to you work on types of industry, and needs a definition of each type of employment -- see the back of book 2 for a glossary of geographical terms.

 

2. Make a graph of the types of employment in East Anglia using the graph sheet Employment structure in the UK

 

3. New industry - mapreading  questions 5, 6 & 7.

These questions are more mapreading practice, but also look into the needs of hi-tech industry. These needs are called factors and can explain why certain industries are in certain places.

1. Changing patterns of industry

 

Draw the graph at the top of page 35 on a sheet of A4 paper in landscape format. Leave enough room around the outside of the graph to answer questions 1, 2 and 3 from page 35

 

2. Using the information from page 34 answer question 4 on the sheet: How the economic life of Britain has changed in  MS Word format. The labels should follow the lead taken by the spider-diagram of 1700, and the information from page 34.
